Dog Grooming is a Family Matter

Dog Grooming for Beginners with the right tools and equipment.

The health and well-being of our pet should be a top concern for a pet owner. Our pet should have a well-balanced diet with dry dog food and nutritional canned food. Our pets need minerals and vitamins in their diet.

With that said, I believe our next concern should be our canines teeth and gums, Just like humans, who would want bad breath? cavities, etc. Working up to brushing daily is ideal. But if his/her mouth is healthy, even three days a week can make a difference. Without brushing, plaque can build up, putting your dog at risk for bad breath, gum disease, and tooth decay. It can also cause painful infections.

OK then, let’s give them something that can do the job in between brushing and be healthy at the same time.

Let’s look at a few dog teeth cleaning products

I’ve been using the same veterinarian for more than 25 years for not only my dogs but also my horse and cows. He told me there are three main concerns dog owners need to correct. By having the right dog chew bone you accomplish three important issues.

1. Destructive chewing–dogs are chewers by nature and need mental and physical stimulation. If they’re not engaged enough, their chew bone, then they will find something else to chew.
2. Stress and Anxiety– lonely dogs chew things, that’s a fact. If not resolved it can turn into full-blown separation anxiety. That’s why you need to supply them with a chew toy to keep them busy and happy.
3. Last, is Boredom–it’s the most common problem and must be addressed at an early age when possible because it can lead to destructive behaviors like chewing, digging, and even excessive barking

So my vet recommended a natural balance dental chews called Nylabone Dura Chew Textured Dog Chew. By the way, these chews go back to 1955. These chew toys are long-lasting (months for my Shepherds, Golden Retriever, Collie) because they are designed for powerful chewers. My four dogs are grown, but these great chew bones come in all sizes and flavors, so I change them up on the next orders. Plus, they have bristles raised during chewing which help clean teeth and control plaque and tartar. These are the best dog dental chews. Why? I’m seeing them work every day on my own dogs and I’m not bragging. Their teeth are perfect.

As I said I have been using these chew toy bones for over 20 years since my vet recommended them to me and all his customers.
If it’s not broken, leave it alone. I have had to replace dogs because of age, but I never had a dog with a tooth problem. That’s the truth.
My secret is these Nylabone long-lasting chew toys, Greenies Dental Treats, and good ole Nabisco Milkbones for extra treats for being good.

Well, that’s my advice for helping to keep your dog’s teeth healthy and free of plaque and tartar build-up.

Go ahead and mix in a favorite toy to destroy. I give my dogs, there big, beef bones from the butcher. You can get them at the supermarket, they package them or ask the meat department guy.
